Father’s Day Gift Guide for the Beer Loving Dad
June 17, 2022
It’s almost Father’s Day, beer buds! No matter the type of father in your life — father, step-dad, grandpa, father figure, dog dad, or human child father — your dad deserves to be honored and celebrated. The world missed celebrating Father’s Day in person last year, so make this year even more special with a gift or two from our curated list of both our favorite things (wing sauce! Tavour!) and presents we plan to purchase for our own dads (no peeking, Dad!). Let us know in the comments or on Instagram how you plan to celebrate your beer-loving pops this Father’s Day!
Beer Gift Gods The Grillfather
Beer Gift Gods’ The Grillfather gift package is epic — cans of New England’s Best IPAs, a bag of Righteous Felon Victorious BIG beer-inflused craft beef jerky (what?!), a bottle of Spicy Shark Megalodon hot sauce (Russell, contain your excitement), Spicewalla Gourmet Fish and Steak spice rubs, and a bag of Cape Cod original potato chips. Plus it’s customizable: choose four or eight cans, and you can personalize the pint glass. Only a handful of these gift boxes left, so get one ASAP! ($69.99-94.99)
The Beer Travel Guide Stein
It’s a truth universally acknowledged that every dad must be in want of another beer stein. Support The Beer Travel Guide by gifting our very own branded beer stein! It’s the perfect size for a generous pour of Dad’s favorite German beer — combine it with a shnitzel dinner and a six pack of a locally brewed dunkel and you’ve just won Father’s Day. ($25 — 15% off with code ZAZZTOPGIFTS)
Gifts for Good Handmade Leather Coaster Set
These handmade leather coasters —available in two colors — are the ideal companion to a beautiful set of monogrammed pint glasses or a delicious six pack of local craft beer. Made from 100% vegetable-tanned leather, these coasters also give back to our global community — the set provides one hour of dignified employment in Haiti to solve the orphan and child slavery crisis. So you can feel good about nailing Father’s Day *and* putting some goodness back into the world. ($18)
Baseball Park Map Pint Glasses
Uncommon Goods’ set of two baseball park map pint glasses features a map of an iconic Major League Baseball stadium in the team’s two main colors. With baseball season already in full swing, Dad will get immediate use out of these snazzy pint glasses. Couple them with a six-pack of his favorite local craft beer (bonus points for beer from his favorite team’s city!), and you might just earn yourself an invite to a father-kid date at the ballpark! PS. This set also comes as a whiskey set if your dad is into that sort of thing. ($38)
Sports Team Magnetic Bottle Opener
A bottle opener is a classic Father’s Day gift, but up the ante with this wall hanging bottle opener (magnetic to catch the bottle caps!) that features Dad’s favorite sports team. We got a very similar Duke bottle opener at a local flea market — it couldn’t be easier to use, and it looks great hanging in our bar area. Unfortunately, we can’t link to the exact one we bought since we got ours from a flea market, but this one from Etsy shop CraftsByAngelaBell is super similar. The shop even offers the option of adding magnets to attach the bottle opener to the fridge or another magnetic surface. ($22-25.50)
Mendocino Jams Mustards and Ketchup
We made our first pilgrimage to Mendocino Jams in Northern California over five years ago, when we were introduced to Mendocino Jams’ titular jams (the olallieberry is our personal favorite!), and Russell discovered their incredible honey mustard. We’ve returned to shop in person several times, as well as ordered directly from their site –it’s a requirement in our house to always have an extra jar of honey mustard in the cabinet. It’s the perfect compliment to a Father’s Day grill out session of burgers and hot dogs. The honey mustard combines a classic sweet flavor with a delightful spicy kick on the finish — a little goes a long way! And although we haven’t tried their ketchup, based on our experience with several of the mustards, the ketchup is going to be top notch! ($15.95-16.95)
NewAir Beer Fridge
If you really want to impress Dad this Father’s Day, go big with a NewAir fridge. We’ve had our NewAir fridge for years, and it’s running as smoothly as the day we got it. We love that the shelves are moveable, and the door is customizable (open from the right or the left — genius!). It has also limited the arguments on how much room our beer hauls take up in our primary fridge — so do your family a service, and get Dad a NewAir fridge to store his next big beer haul. ($349.99)
Man Bouquets aka Broquets
Perfect for any occasion, a man bouquet aka a broquet (promise that isn’t a Russell pun) is the ideal gift for your snack-loving dad. We got a huge kick out of beef jerky in the shape of flowers. We opted for a mix of all three flavors — original, hot, and teriyaki — but it’s customizable to your dad’s taste buds. Bonus — he gets a snazzy pint glass (or beer stein if you’re feeling generous) to remember what an awesome gift you gave him for years to come. Thanks, Manly Man, for the broquet– and if anyone orders a broquet, be sure to tell them The Beer Travel Guide sent you! ($89)
Shirts on Tap Gift Card or Subscription
If there’s one thing dads need, it’s more t-shirts. With a Shirts on Tap giftcard (or subscription!), Dad can choose the brewery and the style of a custom t-shirt each month. The shirt also comes with sweet sweet coupons for your next brewery visit, making this the gift that keeps on giving. Dad will think of his favorite child every month when that Shirts on Tap box hits the mailbox. Plus, if you sign up using our link, Dad will get a free Drink Local Craft Beer shirt! ($24-250)
SouthHouse Philly Wing Sauce
This is by far the go-to wing sauce in the BTG household. Even though we don’t live in Philly, we love supporting a local business, and these sauces are made weekly, so we know they’re always fresh. We also don’t mind ordering multiple bottles at once because they’re super shelf stable. We are partial to the buffalo and sweet and spicy sauces, but we suggest opting for the variety back, so Dad can pick his favorite. Bonus points for firing up the grill and grilling up some tasty wings to serve for Father’s Day dinner along with your dad’s favorite craft beer. ($32)
Tavour Gift Card
Russell receives a big ol’ box of craft beer from Tavour nearly every month. We love that Tavour features over 650 breweries from 47 states, so we get to explore breweries we likely won’t visit anytime soon. A Tavour gift card is the perfect way to encourage your father’s budding craft beer love, giving him the opportunity to experience the best beer from across the country. Tavour also has incredible gift boxes for all beer predilections if you’d rather deliver fresh craft beer directly to Dad’s doorstep. ($25-400)
How are you celebrating Dad this Father’s Day? Emily is making strong moves for the Grillfather gift box from Beer Gift Gods for Russell and the SouthPhilly wing sauces for her dad (for our first family get-together Father’s Day weekend in nearly two years!). We also send our love to all who might struggle on Father’s Day — surround yourself with love and joy (and some fabulous craft beer). PS.
